Waddington Solar (Waddington III PV, LLC) is a 3.00-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) array system proposed to be located at 2800 State Highway 345 in the Town of Waddington, New York. As proposed, the Project will occupy approximately 73 acres and consist of ground-mounted solar PV panels. Future construction of the solar array system involves driving posts into the ground, mounting panels racks to the posts, inverters and several transformers sited on concrete pads, and an access road. The Project will be within the R-1 zoning districts and is considered an "Essential Service" per the Village Zoning Ordinance (§163-10). Under the classification as an "Essential Service", Spafford Solar requires a Special Use Permit and Site Plan Review.
The Project has received an interconnection study from National Grid that confirms available capacity. The solar array system will be connected to the electric power grid via 115 kV three-phase distribution circuit along NY-41 (E. Lake Road), which feeds into the Brady Substation. Utility-side interconnection to ational Grid's distribution system (not transmission). Partial overhear gen-tie segment per NYSEG design requirements; remainder underground on-site collection.
